Hey everyone, new to the forum. Hope I'm posting this I the right place.

Looking to purchase my first bike. I've narrowed it down to the Giant Talon 3 or the Giant full suspension Stance 2.

I've spoken to a number of riders on the trails by be me which include weir canyon loop, Santiago regional and Irvine. I've been given mixed advice as to full vs hard tail suspension. I don't plan on racing for the time being, just enjoying the trails.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

do you want to shake so hard you see your bones in your forearm? if not then buy full suspension. If you are not going fast you can sit all the way down the hill, that alone is enough.
Happy full suspension was the best bicycle invention of the 20th century trails

Like Biggie recommended a full suspension will be a better choice if you are not into racing. Generally easier on the body and more options to ride. Happy trails!

I have to agree, with the 27.5 wheels you will enjoy all types of riding with the Stance 2. I'm not sure though if that rear shock has lockout.
If it does, it will be a plus for climbing hills. The hard tail will be fine but you'll soon be sick of that.

However if you were thinking about a 29er, a hard tail is fine. Mainly because the bozo big top wheels with 29x 2.0-2.3 tires really absorb
the bumps a lot. The larger volume tire the softer the ride. I have a bunch of bikes and riding my rigid 29er with 2.0 tires isn't as bone jarring as one may think.
