Hey all I'm hoping to sell this for a friend of mine. For your consideration is this Rock Shox Vivid 5.1 rear shock, size 8.5x2.5.

He's used it for about two months but then switched to a dhx air to save some weight. The shock looks pretty much new except for a tear on one of the stickers, I guess from a rock or something. The shock comes with a 300# spring.

He bought it new, not sure what the price was, but jensonusa is selling the shock body for $385. Asking $250 OBO. I can meet you at a local trailhead, or you can come pick it up in costa mesa. I'll also ship it for around $8. Cash is king but if you want I've got Paypal too.

Here's some pics (sorry for the huge size, but at least you can see the details!):

That homework is priceless!!
Actually I didn't have to turn it in, it was a study guide for the midterm.

For you.... $50 bucks

I actually didn't realize that before I posted this.

Did some research and it turns out that there are actually three different tune options for the shock. This particular one is the B tuned shock, designed for 2.4-2.85 leverage ratio frames. From what I read, that is not a concrete spec, its merely designed to help people with the starting point for tuning (correct me if I'm wrong).

Also, there are three different available DropStop bottom out bumpers. Soft, Medium, and Hard. This shock has the Soft bumpers installed. I assume others can be ordered. Hope that helps.

How does one figure out their leverage ratio?

Rear wheel travel / Shock travel

OR

distance between pivot to shock and distance between pivot to rear triangle

self bump! I'll throw it on ebay for this guy soon but wanted to see if any STR peeps needed it first.

Big stress on the OBO. He's not interested in a huge chunk of money, just trying to pad the bank account (plus I get a 12 pack of something nice for helping him sell it... you know you wanna help me get drink, make an offer!!)

My bad

he has the older heckler, won't fit, this fits the new heckler..Sorry for the confusion....
