Free(ish) Mac Memory

    Anyone need a couple gigs worth of memory for their Macbook Pro? I upgraded from the 2GB that comes with the machine to 4 this evening and now have 2, 1GB sticks sitting around.

    They might work on something other than the Macbook Pro, I'm not sure. Check Crucial.com to see if they work on other machines would be my best advice. Happy to ship them to a worthy new home for the price of postage.

    Not to be a debbie downer but, if you do have to ever send the laptop to Apple would they care that you put in the memory yourself and void the warranty? I just got 4 gigs for my Macbook but think I'm gunna keep the stock stuff just in case I need to bring it in so it doesn't look like I've upgraded it.

    Just a thought

    As for Apple wanting stock memory in the machine, that'd really irritate me, but I can't just let this stuff sit around. It's either off to a deserving home or to the recycle bin.
