Does anyone know what I need to fit an oversized hub on a standard fork? I'm not sure what kind of adapter I need to make it fit. I have the revolution wheels I want to put on but I don't know the exact part/adapter I need.

I'm working on a transition covert project and I want to put on the revolution wheels but the hub for the front is oversized.

    http://www.socaltrailriders.org/for...6626-project-2-transition-covert-buildup.html

    Any help is appreciated!

"oversized" meaning 20mm T/A? I don't think the transition hub is convertable... could be wrong though.

the hub is a 20mm and I think the fork has a 9mm drop out and I can't change the fork so I need to figure out how to get the 20mm hub attached to the 9mm drop out.

i don't think it can be done...some hubs can do it, but i don't think the revolution can. I'd swap the hub.

usally a 20mm hub is wider at the bearings so with an adapter its way to wide

ur right, i looked at mtbr and doesn't seem that anyone figured this out with the transition frame. Lets see what transition say when they get back to me. if anyone knows how to do it, it should be them.

I guess the next question would be is what hub do i get and if i replace a hub do I need to replace all the spokes or could i use the same spokes if i found the same size hubs. this is going to be a lot more work then i was anticipating :?:

Deffinatly azonic... or just an XT hub, inexpensive and strong! just be sure to pull it apart, replace the grease, and adjust the bearings properly

I guess I'm missing something....what does the Transition frame have to do w/ the wheel set? That frame will accept a fork that has 20mm thru....

IF you like the wheel set soo much and don't want to buy/lace up a new hub(tooo much work)....why not buy or trade for a used Fox fork w/ 20mm thru and sell the Fox fork you have to recoup some/all of the money you spent on the proper fork for the wheel set you have/like?

Those wont work, they are for the azonic hub

CAll transition, there hubs are convertible, the rear 135 hubs are convertable fron a 135 by ten QR<solid type>, 135 bolt on, or 12mm TA style<via bearing kit, and end cap kit>
the front will be end caps, bearings, and solid 9mm QR.

Hardest part is changing the bearings.....

I think its coming down to that. I'm just trying to avoid spending anymore money then I have to. All the parts on this bike are take offs but if there is no adapter I will either have to change the hub or the fork. It seems like there is a huge learning curve with all these size issues. I'm having the same issue with the bottle rocket seat post. such an odd size and its driving me nutz.

The rear is fine, its just the front. I'm waiting for transition to get back to me. I saw an adapter on their website but these are the old (V1) hubs and I don't think their adapter will fit on the hubs I have. I'll wait and see since there doesn't seem to be a quick solution for this.

thanks for all ur help with this issue. I'll report back once I figure it out or just burn the wheels from frustration!
