Just a quick reminder. 1st Thursday MTB ride is happening this week. I'll be putting up more reminders in the next couple of days, but you can find all the info on our Facebook events page, or look below.
Cheers, S.
P.S. I'm working on something for the roadies amongst us as well. Keep your eyes open for future announcements.

What happens if someone runs into your group on the trail? Waiver required to join ya? I noticed last week, that it was getting dim by 8. How long is the ride? Recommend lights?

This happens sometimes and we have yet to make anyone ride back to the shop to sign a waiver ;). So far lights aren't necessary. Maybe in the next month or so, but right now we are still getting back with plenty of light.

I'm hoping to make it out for this ride! The Corona to the beach road ride last month was awesome, my wife and I had a blast. Keep up the good work.

I rode without a light with them once, in a FF helmet, and even opted to do the "extra credit" portion and the end ride with mad fast Doug leading the group, who wasn't really showing any mercy to those less fit. #-o

Sycamore is really open and you can still see quite a bit in the dark. There will be a full moon out anyways. Hmm, that means there might be 2 full moons this month. Interesting... :-k

The waiver is no big deal. They got to cover their ass in this highly litigious society, but it enables them to take more fun options on the ride and I guess they can afford to give out more swag. Got a Jenson T-Shirt, a Knog LED tail light, and a Camelbak water bottle as swag so far from joining these monthly rides. I'm wearing the T-Shirt right now, actually.

Wow, that only happens once in a blue moon! (You set it up, someone had to hit it...)

I was just wondering. I don't leave work till 7 and was going to try to be on the trails about 7:15. I wasn't sure how long the ride lasts in case i ran into you all. Good to know if i run into your group, i will be welcomed.

We leave the shop at 6:30 pm and usually ride for 1.5 hours or so. You might be able to catch us for a bit. I'll be on a Diamondback Mission with a white Rockshox Lyrik, and a bunch of other riders. Hopefully we'll see you.

Didn't bring the camera to take any pics, but a decent sized group showed up, which included a surprising amount of Jenson employees that I never ridden with before. Not sure if Team Dirty Work got new members or something, but the 4Runner I associate with them showed up with a few people I haven't seen before. The Jenson guys showed me a new line, which they call the Lunge. I starts off around "Dookie's playground". It has a few rock drops and a couple jumps, but the coolest part are the super high berms which you can go nuts on. I was dropping my front in them with so much confidence, which would normally lead to wash out; much different from the kind of cambered turns at McTwist and such. I had bonked just before that, but it was so flowy that I gathered energy somehow to take the drops and some of the later jumps though. It connects to the jump area just before the bridged dip, on the right most easy line.

The full moon was really low and orange. Was kind of creepy. Anyone else see it?

Raffle had some nice goodies. The winner, Chris (the Verizon guy, I remember him as now, to differentiate him from all the other Chris's I know that mtn bike), picked out a new tire. Saw a handlebar and some apparel in the box, but no SB-95 sadly. Maybe next month. ;)
