Fallbrook SMaRT-Santa Margarita River Trail ride: Wednesday 6/18 at 5:30 PM.
A few have expressed interest in checking this area out, so I offered to lead the ride since it's my home trail. I started mountain biking on this trail 5 years ago and know it well.
A word of warning--the entire area was devastated by the wildfires in October last year. The vegetation is coming back in nicely and the trail has had a lot of work done to it since and is in decent shape, all things considered. However, it is very sandy in spots and you need to be aware of that going in. It is still a fun trail though.
Do to daylight/time constraints, I won't be able to show all this area has to offer, which is over 20 miles of trail. I will be able to show the main trails and point out other trails/areas of interest.
Meet at the North end of Stage Coach Ln in Fallbrook. From I-15: Exit Mission Rd/Fallbrook and take a right on Mission Rd. into town. Follow to first stop light--Stage Coach Ln and turn right. Park at the very end.
OK -- so I guess there are still some bugs in the Forum revamp -- I put this on the calendar cuz I didn't see it there. I hit submit once, and it's here twice. It is on the calendar now, but I don't see the "yes, no, maybe" buttons.
