driving down from portland and need suggestions for riding spots

    We are doing a family vacation to san clamente and I need to know where to mt bike at. I am mainly a cross country rider but a little hucking is fun too. We are driving down from portland oregon so can make a few stops. We are spending 2 day's in santa cruz also. Thanks for any suggestions
