Anyone here going? It's on March 3rd, and it's already sold out.

I'll be there for the century, anyone else?

Missed it, I tried to sign up and it was like 24 hours and it said it was sold out. Not to bad though Solvang is the very next weekend though. I wanted to do them both though.

Oh well. I would be down for the Solvang, but getting away from work consecutive weekends is a bit tough.

Both of those weekends are bad for me, unfortunately. I've got drama stuff on both. It's fun but I'm not getting any mileage out of it. :D

    Good Ride

With 50 miles of a strong headwind. Did the first 50 miles in 2:40, total time of 7:15, which put me in 8th of 150 riders.

I screwed up and didn't check in at the start, though, so I guess I am officialy listed as DNF (Did not finish) My mistake, so I didn't argue. I know where I finished, so it doesn't matter.

You are a strong rider Jess, wish I could of rode it with you. 2:40 is a very good 50. I've never done that good.

Got 2:44 once. First half of the Solvang double.

Nice job, I love this ride I've missed signing up the last 3 times. I'm going to ride in Oct I hope. I've only done the spring ride before, which is awesome, with the snow up on the peaks!

    Here's the link
Death Valley Century and Double Century

Chris Kostman who runs it, use to do the Planet Ultra rides. It fills up extremly quickly, like 24 hours. People come from every where. They also run the 508 & the Badwater marathon

I am going to do the fall double. We should all get together and sign up for the ride as soon as it opens, reserve rooms at the Ranch and hang out for the weekend.

    Any takers?

Sounds good Jess, it's just a little to far off for me to plan yet. I know it fills fast, so I'll make up my mind soon. I'll be doing RAGBRAI which is a 7 day 580 mile ride across Iowa in July so I should still be ready to ride this too.

Chris is no longer with Planet Ultra? Why? Not that I have any love for the management there.

Aww man! 200 miles? I don't think I'll *ever* be able to do 200 miles. I was definitely thinking the century would be cool. I'll miss all you guys though. Unless others only want to do the century with me.

I think Deborah Caplan & Brian Bowling took things over a while ago. I don't even see the acticales by Kris on the web site. I hear you about the love, I had to drop out of the Mullholland Double a couple of years ago, I had to have my wife pick me up. Two girls I was riding with had a mechanical early & had to hitch a ride back down PCH!! I think the biggest problem they have are these long rides, is a big difference in abilities, I bit off way to much doing the double at that time. There must have been riders spread out over a 60 mile area. I was still in Ventura & the leaders were way past Ojai at that point. The great thing about the Death Valley rides is that it's an out & back so they can cover that kind of distance a little better. I mean you want something for your $60, or might as well do it by yourself!!!!!

Just remember to register if you decide you're up for it!

Nice, it will be a good time, for sure!

Just come and do the century! We'll all hang out before and after the ride, anyways!

I really want to. I wanted to ride DV this time but had too much going on. It sounds awesome. But, I don't want to ride 100 miles by myself. Who will I complain to?
