SOLD Chris King Hubs Wheelset SOLD
SOLD
Chris King DISC wheelset
Classy and timeless BLACK
Aluminum body hubs with Chris Kings legendary ring drive system providing almost instant engagement.
Rear hub body shows what I would consider normal wear for an aluminum hub body. See pictures.
Mavic 317 rims. At least one will need replacing as you will see in the pictures and in the description below.
Black spokes except for one silver on the rear.
The value in this auction is all in the hubs. For more information on King hubs go here: http://chrisking.com/hubs
Here is the history on these wheels. They were purchased new in 2007. Cost was a little under $800. They've been ridden off and on since that time, probably averaging about once a week. Recently they have been sitting in my living room along with a ton of other bike stuff I never use. My wife is very happy they will be gone. I weigh 160-170 lbs.
Condition of wheels is well used. See photos. You can see several major dings in the photos and there are more that didn't show up. One of the spokes has been replaced and is silver instead of black. Also shown in the photos are several spots on the rear wheel where the rim is developing a hairline crack around the eyelet for the spoke nipple.
Although the wheels are rideable the true value lies in the hubs as at least one of the rims will need replacing. The hubs are in good condition as the pictures show, with the only real wear appearing on the splines of the aluminum hub body where the cassette made several indentations on each spline... in my experience this is common for an aluminum hub body, but if it bothers you the King hub bodies are replaceable. Again, see pictures.
Asking 400 OBO.
I am always happy to answer questions, don't hesitate to ask.
