    do you have times set?

I know just about everyone going doesn't know me, but I'm going to try and make the ride on Sat.

Do you have a gestimation of times that y'all are riding?

I'm hoping we can hit the trails around 9 or 10. After coffee and pancakes.

i plan on riding after breakfast, afternoon, and at night (either saturday or friday). i have a figure 8 loop route planned. i also can see a downhill section that might be pretty fun just north of the campgrounds. i really hope it doesn't rain 8-[

There are many fun singletracks in Sycamore, No hardcore DH runs, everything can be ridden with ease on any type of bike.

I've seen riders on 80's retro bikes with insanely high stems tearing it up out there, what was his name?

I may come down with the girlfriend if she is up for it. She's not much of a rider though so she might just stay in camp. How difficult are these trails? How long? Also, is this beach front camping? Which spots are near-ish to the water? I will be taking a few surfboards with me as well.

There are trails for beginners and intermediate riders. Plenty of flat fireroads and singletrack. You can ride out and back for about 10-12 miles and not have any climbing. Or, you can start right off with a grinding climb for about 30 minutes. Depends on what you're looking for.

The beach is right across the street from the campground. Don't know much about the surf there, but there are popular spots right up the street.

Yeah, I'll be around. Not sure about camping, may just start earlier at top of Wendy and meet for the morning rides.

That's my plan as well. I'm going to drop in from Newbury Park and roll into the STR commune for the pre-ride BS session. The captains will pick their teams ;) and roll out.

It'd be sweet if the park allowed paintball guns. Two teams...heading out on different trails...recon...flank..."Wolverines!!!"

They've been under siege for about three months. They live on rats and sawdust bread and sometimes... on each other. At night, the pyres for the dead light up the sky. It's medieval."

not a big fan of Hell Hill.

another route is up Overlook, down Guad, left on Wood Cyn to Sin Nombre/Two Foxes, up Guad, down Backbone, back to camp. or climb Backbone instead of Overlook, if you want a shorter but steeper climb.

this way you get both descents, and their climbs as well

    just another suggestion.

Hey Tep, I agree with you re: Hell Hill. Just not a fun climb or descent.
You pretty much described the route I was going to lead for one of the A-rides. That is, if there are organized rides.

For those who prefer more mileage:
Up Overlook, down Guad, left Wood Cyn, up Ranch Center, down Sage aka Tick Trail, right Sin Nombre, right Two Foxes, right Wood Cyn, up Guad, down Backbone to camp.

    Less miles:
Up Backbone, down Guad, left Wood Cyn, up Ranch Center, right Coyote, right Two Foxes, right Wood Cyn, up Guad, down Backbone back to camp.

    Even shorter miles:
Up Backbone, down Guad, up Guad, down Backbone back to camp. But that would be really short...
