After 40+ years of riding I dumped it and broke my first collar bone (and some ribs for good measure). I've landed on my shoulders a few times but never had it snap on me till now.:-s When I got in the ER room the nurse says "I need to strip you down so you will be ready for your xray" and these two other nurses walk in and say oh hey we will help strip him down with you. So I have these three cute nurses ripping off my gear like a pack of hungry she-wolves" So I'm laying there in just my lycra shorts and tell them I am freezing and can I have a blanket, nurse says oh of course but first we need to get your vitals an IV and your pain meds going. :-s The thing that hurt the worst was when I got home from the ER my daughter says "What happened SmoothControl?" Arrrgh, teenage smart ass!:-s
Sorry to hear this, grasshopper. The trail gods are very patient... it may take 40 years .... but you know it's gonna happen sooner or later... not a matter of "if"... ony "when". In the meantime, try and milk it for all it's worth ....
They say all great riders have broken their collarbone at least once. I've had three breaks, so I must be really good You may now claim greatness as well. Don't sneeze, laugh, or cough...Welcome to the club.
