That's the one. It looks so much smaller in pics. I psyc myself out sometimes on the stupidest stuff. But to be honest this scares me more than a 4th gear wfo jump on my MX bike

 

It does look a lot smaller in the pictures. I think if you ride with some of us there you should be able to hit it no problem. Its all about coming up to it right.

I wouldnt worry about it.

There is a king of the mountain award for the racer averaging best between both races.* Women will have times averaged and with a 10 % handicap- meaning a woman coming within 10 percent of the top K of M male qualifier can win.* no classes.

mustmoto, it's an easy roller. just slow down, spot your line, and go. it's WAY easier than it looks. it's just when you start dropping to flat it like the pros that you run into sketchiness...

 

Yeah i'm heading out tomorrow to stay with/see a friend. I'll be in Vegas though. When you going? I'm pretty nervous cause its my first race! 8-[

 

Johnny, dont be so nervous! its going to be same people you prob have been riding with.. just have fun dont worry if you didnt do great at first race, its all about having good time! and learn what this whole DH racing is!

Oh and I am wondering if there is anyone carpooling/hotel sharing ?

 

Just remember to BREATH.

A first race is more about learning what to expect and how things are run and making down in one piece even if you wreck hard rather then winning although that would just be icing on the cake.

 

Brian and I are heading out early Sat morning so we only have to get a room for one night. You got my number right. We'll get you set and make sure you have a great time

My thoughts on it.

-Expensive registration
-4 to 5 hour drive
-Need a hotel room
-One run
-Not a lot of advertising for it
-Most people who have never been to bootleg dont know how much fun it is, or how different and unique the riding is

For beginner racers who have never been to bootleg it would be hard to justify going out.

All that said, Im stoked to come out.
Ill be there and Im bringing a friend to ride and maybe race.

And from what I have heard its going to be a great race. Its hard to put on a race for the first time.

I have been talking to her for around 2 weeks about the race, and different details about me shooting there.
Ill wait to see what the actual turn out is before I give any feed back. Just because there aren't a lot of STR people coming out doesn't mean it will be a small race. There may be a lot of people that live closer racing.

I think its more of socal people just like Fontana because they know it and are comfortable with it and dont want to risk trying something new.

 

there were quite a few people there last weekend practicing. I think it will be a pretty good turnout

 

Id be down to get my picture taken. It would be a nice change from what I normally do. Ill be there early to set up anyway. If I have time ill come find you.

I'm getting feaking excited! I got here late last night and forgot my 2 dressy shirts to go out to dinner in so I'll be spending money on a shirt now too. But otherwise I'll be here if anyone wants to ride :wave:

I convinced my friend to come out with me to ride. Im planning on riding all day friday. $20 shuttles for all day, you cant beat that. I love Bootleg
