Rode here on the 'beginner' aliso ride today and conditions were great. Dirt still has traction and it was a bit overcast. Perfect riding weather! We did fireroad -> cholla -> rockit -> cholla -> lynx.
Rode Fireroad --> Cholla--> Rock it--> Coyote Also rode Fireroad --> Cholla --> Matthis --> Dripping Cave Both routes in good conditions. Watch out for ruts in DHs!
Rode Aliso today with Skippy, matt (vondork), and lance. 5oaks -> cholla -> top of the world -> rockit -> up rockit -> lynx. Got a bit foggy and chilly towards the end of the ride. Trails were in good shape. We saw a rattler on the way to top of the world, near rockit - a fat son of a gun.
the west ridge fire road was graded today. MAthis abd the wood canyon trail werent graded, None of the sinlge track was graded this time. The west ridge is wayy sandy.
Rode this yesterday with Rob, Bret, and his buddy wendel. I rode 5oaks/lynx before the rest of the gang got there. 5 oaks is REALLY loose in a few of the middle sections. Did rockit/cholla/lynx with the rest. Those trails were OK. Lynx is a little loose in one spot but not too bad. Lots of people + a hot day
Alsio Woods: Top of Cholla 9-20-07 I took the day off hoping to finish some personal things I have been putting off and wanted to go for a ride, but of course it rained early this morning so I figured Id give a small trail report: the spots I checked were mostly top of Cholla as I only had a few minutes to spare. A lot of the really loose sand seems to have been washed away or packed, but ther is still some in spots. The trail is cleaner now then last I rode it(last Sat), and looks in better shape...unfortunately while I was surveying I did notice tracks, pretty fresh from a morning ride...:?: Here are some pics of the top of Cholla. I didn't want to go any further down, as I did not wish to erode the trail further:
rode aliso last night, milf to meadows and back... meadows is in pretty bad shape IMO.. tons of braking bumps everywhere and from halfway down there are cuts in the switchbacks... come on people, is it that hard to make the turns?
Damn you guys that get to ride Aliso during the week. What time do you guys normally hit it during the week?
