I was wondering when you would want to have the preload on the forks fully tword the plus side and what conditions you would want the preload tword the minus side. I really dont understand the purpuse of the preload on the shock. I hope somebody would please explaine the reasoning and purpose for them.


What is the difference between hydrolic brakes and cable disks other than the fluid and the cable i get that much.

preload is used to set the sag on the shock/fork. Set it and forget it in most cases.

On brakes, hydraulics are the way to go. Cable are simpler and arguably have less to go wrong but hydraulics are usually stronger and require less adjustment.
