What do you do with said photos? Sell them? give them away? post them on STR? if I race I would like some photos of myself?

Don't let being slow stop you. If your not racing in France this July then who cares! One race can change your life (if you let it) Racing is FUN, please don't let you speed or lack there of keep you from having fun.

So will it now be Miss Hobbs or Mrs. Hobbs?

just asking because I have a friend that keeps asking me to fix him up with some hot mt bike chicks and I keep telling him those are few and far between.

No OTH experience yet. Sounds fun. I'm probably in for a few of them.

All reports and pix from last year seemed like it was a blast, so I signed up for my first race. What trails and distance would you equate the race course to in relation to the trails at Aliso Woods? This is where I'll be riding/practicing.

    2010 over the hump series

Will be racing this series for the first time and don't know if should enter in beginner or sport. I have done 2 races in cat 2 and have ended almost last and feeling really bad. I have been training and feel will do ok this time but would like insight from somebody that raced last year.

Sound's like Beginner...8-10 miles...; if you find the first one you dominate, you can always jump up in class...and you'll still have 11 more races to put towards your Sport Series winner points.

I'm curious, I rode by there yesterday and didn't see anything resembling a trail like last year? With the high water level and a lack of visible singletrack what is the course going to be?

True some of last years course is under water. We've adjusted the course added singletrack on the south side of the lake and added a climb or two. Lots of fast racing .....plus the floating dock/bridge it's going to make an exciting course able to handle a few more racers. As the water drops we'll get the old single track back and have course variations through the summer.7 days left.

According to the facebook OTH fanpage, new course is 4.6 miles and 800 feet of climbing per lap. For people riding sport, like me, that translates to 13.8 miles and 2400 feet of climbing.

Compare that to 3.6 and 450 feet of climbing per lap (10.8 miles, 1350 feet) in last years course. All things considered, the change should make it just as much or more fun IMO.

I am really excited to see the course, but I wish there were a description of the course or a gps track available for preparing how to approach the laps prior to showing up on Tuesday night... hint hint...

Sorry for the confusion- we've got more trail and altitude to work with, so there will be more variations, especially as the water drops. As you know we won't post GPS because Irvine Lake is a closed course and we're asking you only to ride on designated days to help us keep the only regular OC race venue open.

Here's the stats for Tuesday, May 25 route.

    • Course distance: 3.76miles (may vary from week to week)
    • Elevation gain per lap: approx 380+ feet Vertical
    • Beginner & Junior Course: 2 laps (approx 7.52 miles, 760+ vertical)
    • Sport Course: 3 laps (approx 11.28 miles, 1,140+ vertical)
    • Expert & Pro Course: 4 laps (approx 15.04 miles, 1,520+ vertical)
See you next Tuesday, and thanks for all the support. It's going to be a great summer.

    Suggestion

I was thinking about the floating bridge and it might make sense set some rules or guidelines for it, such as slower traffic keeping right and passing only on the left. Just a suggestion to keep people out of the drink ;)
