Dave, Lance, Levi, Tinker, Manny...What about Brian? Haha! I see there's a pretty good contingent representing from So Cal this year (again). I'm planning on heading out the Wednesday before by car (no choice this time). Anyone up for a carpool, let me know. I have a spare rack space.

Safe and swift race to everyone--and to anyone from So Cal I haven't yet connected with.

Also noticed a few other big names on the entry list

    Ned Overend
    Jeremiah Bishop
    JHK

Would be fun to be able to watch the battle up front.

And good luck to Gerry Cody of Don's Bikes (25th at last year's Leadville).

i heard ned is a no show.

after watching todd wells tear up the mens short course at sea otter makin light work of all the other pros and passing manny prado like he was cat 3, i am sure todd can give lance a run for it.

here is a video that gerry took 2 days ago. he is training with another socal favorite nate whitman who got 6th place 2 years ago. this is lance and JHK training

    go tinker! :bang:

unfortunately jeff shalk and tostado arent going to be there to so we can see how they match up with the other stars of the race.

as much as i want to root for our mountain bikers to beat lance and levi, i just dont know. lance was in his middle chain ring going up the top of columbine last year and then standing while doing so!!! dave weins came up in his granny gear. and now lance is 2 years deep in his training after retirement. he might come out and just flat out be a monster...again

for those of you that havent ever ridden at 12k'...it sucks! last year i road up columbine after the race. i did my best just to stay on the bike, but after 11k, when it got technical, i couldnt even stay on the bike for more than 15'. granted, i was in recreational shape:)

Chateau Toyota rolled into town this evening after 920 miles. Sorry for the cell phone pic. Tomorrow we're off to climb Columbine and will report back with some pictures. Seems pretty quiet so far... I'm sure that will change soon.

Thanks AJ! And to everyone else for their comments and support. Looking forward to a little pre-riding and O2 deprivation tomorrow. And a great day of "digging deep" on Saturday. And a buckle on Sunday. Shooting for a sub-10 hour finish. My Siren Song 29 and I are safely in bed in Grand Junction (separate beds, as she's a bit prudish about sleeping together before a big race) and ready to git 'er done.

    Next stop 10,200'!

    See y'all back home soon.
