2009 Fontana City National/Kenda Cup West/Rock Shox Golden State Downhill #1

Just registered as well but will only be there for Saturday's practice/race.

 

4x course looks cool! I have never been there before so i stopped by on my way home from work. EC as riding a couple of sections since the tractor as gone. There were some kids out there on BMX bikes screwing around telling him what a good job he did! They asked him if he races to which he answers "sometimes" Never met him before( and didnt really tonight) but he was very cool with the kids. Definitely seems to be a good ambassador for the sport.

 

Hey I will be out there Thursday if you will be for sure. I am assuming this is a member from the Incycle team given your name and the huge red foes you used to race. Hopefull it is you so I don't look crazy. Anyways this is the "New Kevin" if that rings a bell indeed.

 

anyone know if I'll be able to register at the event? I'm still a little sketch on the shoulder, and I need to have them credit my money from last race anyway. I'd rather wait until friday to decide what I'm going to do.

also, thanks for the 4X pics sharky. is that triple still there? or did they make it a step-up double? it's kinda hard to tell. if the triple is still there, that double into the new lefthand berm is gonna suck...

Ill be there thursday, friday for practice and taking Sunday off to race DH... If all goes well and the class scheduel isnt some quiz or test!!!!!!!!!!#-o

 

doesn't work so well. I pounded a newcastle between 4X runs because my shoulder hurt, and only ended up crashing harder. beer is bad mmmkay (wait, what am I saying???)

 

I'll be there for 4X practice on Friday!!!! Who's down for Taco's after the race on Saturday?????

Misleading with downhill in the title. I dont read any of the downhill threads and I am sure I am not the only one.

 

Well its not just an XC race. It is actually pat of few series hence the multiple titles.

 

I'll be there. Cat2 XC (35-40). Did 4 laps of the course Tuesday. It's going to fun, but just hope you don't get caught behind anyone slow. There aren't too many places to pass on the backside once you clear the water tower.

Neil is *thinking* about actually doing the XC race, we shall see

 

Roger and Adrian are over checking out the 4x course right now. They said it looks much more like a pro level course and they were scared!!!!!

 

What do you think the turnout will be for DH and 4X ? Do racers that race XC and/or super D race 4x and DH also ? Or will it be the same crowd from the winter series racing DH and 4x ?

If I just want to ride the DH course on Friday, can I get on the shuttle (paying the $5.00) and NOT be registered to race?

 

It's hard to say. Since it is not a USAC race and there are no points, there is no way to know how many non-regulars will show up. There are winner's jerseys for Pro and Experts, so that might draw a few extra people!!! There was a good turnout last year, but it was a USAC race.
