SOLD 2009 Avid Juicy 7 disc brake set SOLD

New Avid Juicy 7 disc brakes. These are great brakes, I have them on several of my bikes.

You can think of purchasing these brakes as making a charitable donation in light of my current poverty. Only kidding... sort of. I was planning to put them on a bike I was building but I've had to put it off for financial reasons, oh well!

Lately these bad boys have been in my living room. I'm finally getting around to selling them and my wife is ecstatic.

Everything is in perfect condition. Pre-bled. Comes with all mounting hardware for brakes, calipers and 160mm rotors as well as the adapters. Everything in the pic.

Asking $160.00 for the set.

I am in Pasadena near JPL/Brown Mtn trailhead but I can meet anywhere nearby.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to email me at [email protected]

Thanks for looking.

I just bought some J5's, otherwise i'd jump on thses, people might want to know what size rotors though... they look 160mm in the picture but i could be wrong.

If its an 185mm (7") rotors, I am interested.

you can convert them to 185mm, but i'm not sure if it'll still be worth the price. 185mm mounts are about $8/each. I have one that i'll sell for $5, lol.

then you'll also need 185mm rotors, unless you have some already.

Im just trying to upgrade my jamis parker bike that i bought from jenson.. it has weak tekno brake system that got really really hot too quickly, it has 160mm rotor on rear with 185 front.. and it squeaks really loud!

Sounds like you just need the adapter that minhster has (?) since you already have a rotor.

If I were you though and I was buying a new brake set, I'd invest in a new front rotor to go with it.

My experience with disc brakes is that occasionally they squeal. Period.

Just an FYI, the flashing Jenson banner on this page has Avid Ultimates new for $189.

That is a bit misleading.

That is the price per wheel. A complete set would be about 380 dollars + tax & shipping. Came out to $424.03 when I went to Jenson. If that is in your budget I highly recommend Juicy Ultimates!

my haynes nines on the dh bike doesnt squeak that loud to cause major vibrations

Still sqeaks though. Major vibrations is a bit strange, have you tried cleaning your rotors with alchohol or clean streak and finely sanding your pads (on a mirror flat surface)?

Also make sure your rotors are still perfectly straight.
