Last year they said no pre-riding. When we got there we were going to hike it and there were many people pre-riding so, so did we. I plan on pre-riding it this year!!!!

i've never ridden in a race before, how do they start.. is it like a time trial thing or does everyone start at the same time? i'm not in the greatest shape but it sounds like a lot of fun!

No, you are staged by sex/race category. If you check out the Registration link, it shows the start times for each category.

Can anyone compare this course to the Bonelli course for me? I know only 2 laps for this one but are the hills steeper/longer/short etc etc. Any harder downhill singletrack on this one? Thanks!

I'm definitely in. I registered yesterday. This will be my first race, and I actually want to race it and see how bad a shape I'm in.... ha ha ha!

Will there be an area for us STR members to meet and hangout at?

You won't have any problems Tara. There's one especially steep climb, but I've never seen anyone in my category pedal up it. It's a HAB for us mere mortals. The downhill right after though was intimidating to me. Narrow, soft in some sections, throw in a few bumps and worst of all, its right where everyone gathers to watch from the parking lot, so you don't want to look like a wuss or go OTB. Plus there's a right hander at the bottom where I've seen a lot of riders wash out because of the gravel. Riding past the pigs on the back end of the course while you're gasping for air wasn't too thrilling for me either. Other than that, you should be golden:lol: I'll watch for you on your podium finish.

Jojo, this is a blast to race. I think the attitude may change a little since it's part of a race series now and there are racers out in the mix to get their points. But it's a good first race. Lot's of newbies out there.

I didn't even try to ride it on lap 2. Run the bike up to the top of the hill, come down that fun singletrack before the finish and hope you dont crash in front of everyone. I think the spectator's loved watching people bite it there.

Tara, much easier than bonelli. The uphills that is.

The race is held on the Cross Country running course and is only open on race day. You can pre-ride it on Saturday, but that is the extent of it.

Hmmm it's normally a running course? I'd definately be up for a 6 mile run this Friday to mix things up AND get to at least see the course. Is it hard to get lost?
