You can "unofficially" practice the course on Saturday. We went last year expecting to only be able to walk it, and there were many people actually riding it. It was worth the pre-ride!!!!

    Hey Nancy,

I'm waiting for a insurance policy to be issued and then the site can be activated. Sorry about the delay.

    Sincerely,

Yeah, Nancy we rode way too much the Saturday before last year's race. Marshall and then the course.

Maybe it was the onion tower at Red Robin but I came out flat as a pancake Sunday.

Hey what bike you riding this year? I didn't know you owned anything less than 6" of travel anymore.

I agree, I had tired legs for sure and by my 3rd lap, I was toast.

Don't know yet. Either my new Tracer, or if that doesn't work out, I will have to borrow a bike. ;)

    Fat Tire Classic...

I know there has been alot of talk about the Classic but I'm trying to get a sence of how hard the course is. Let me use Turnbull as a reference. For those that have done it, would the Classic be harder or easier then doing Turnbull?

Description: A rolling course with two steep climbs per 6-mile loop, and 1/4 mile steep downhill per loop. You pass through tunnels twice per loop as you race on mostly packed dirt.

The hard part was navigating through the first singletrack with everyone else. One person gets off to walk, so is everyone else. #-oThe climbs are short compared to the turnbull climbs.

Thats all I needed to know, thanks. It's kinda hard to determine how hard it is just with the discription, so I wanted to just compare it with a corse that I'm familiar with. Are you going to be there this year?

I'll be at this one. Think I might get a hotel room in the area since I'll be driving up from SD.

    • dennis - this would be my first race
    • Frozen208
    • genusmtbkr5 - more than likely, but this time I'll race expert.
    • jfromlv - I'm a maybe just because it's hard for me to think that far ahead!
    • JOx2
    • Jutty - Could be my first race...not 100% sure on attending yet though.
    • Laggdawg - Seems like this is a well attended and fun race. Any group rides prior so I can meet a few co-competitors when I convert my maybe status?
    • mp3 - I'll have the beer tent again if I don't race.
    • TrojanInsomniac - Looks like this could be fun!

I've been a member here for a while but haven't participated much. I'm signed up for the beginner race and would like to meet up with the group.
