This isn't easy... So I'll pick a few off the top of my head.
    1) Tin Mine: In Washington state. Lush, Lush green, nearly year round running water and challenging terrain in either direction... all in a surreal setting.
    2) Abandoned Truck Trail in Oak Hills: Formerly known as Dead Horse. This is frequently included when I ride from home. A great mixture of foothill and desert terrain with lots of flow and variety of terrain..
    3) Any version of Palm Canyon. I love desert terrain, and this provides plenty of it. Whenever I do Palm Canyon, it always includes good friends and people I don't get to ride with on a regular basis.

Thanks for the tips guys. Im down for any type of riding so I will definitely hit up as many as possible of the spots mentioned. Im moving back up to Norcal and all the trails are 1-2 hours away. I will miss living 30 minutes from all the trails.

I get the feeling most of the trails listed were based on convenience and not necessarily the best. There are a lot of great trails in So Cal though...

    My three...

    Mt Pinos
    Rocky Peak
    Tapia Canyon

Hmmm...do you kill me before or after the ride? :-k

Haven't ridden on too many trails yet.... of the few I have, SART is highly recommended.

lived up there for years for grad school... it was torture. It's just not the same. Even the santa cruz forest trails are highly overrated. Almost no hard pack technical sections on trails with anything interesting going on.
