Do you really think you'll have a chance at unsheathing it upon attack?

Nope, you're right. Hoofed animals can't unsheath a pocket knife.

I know that this is the natural cycle of things, but it still kinda bummed me out to see that beautiful animal go down like that. :(

That looked like a Jaguar or Leopard. If it's a Jaguar and it get a hold of your neck, c'est la vie, those cats can carry their prey up into trees so they can feast peacefully. Nice find Jeff, you been riding?

If it makes you feel better the leopard was probably out looking for dinner for these guys.

Not that anyone has ever survived to talk about it but supposedly the best defense is to shove your fingers up their nostrils and rip and pull with every thing you got. As the video shows they are opportunists and sometimes don't have to work hard to get something to eat. So they look else where when there is a struggle.

dude, why you gotta post this right before night riding season? i've been going back and forth as to the safety of doing night rides alone. This video isn't helping me stay on the bike.

On that note, anybody have a good idea how to strap some mace or a fixed blade somewhere on a rider or bike? before everybody says it's useless, i'd still like to go out fighting. A 1% chance is still better than just rolling over for dinner.
