Lost in the Southern Sierras, made it back at sunset, 8.5 hours ride time.

My roommate in college and I celebrated his first MTB by going out on the Konza prairie cowpathing.

We went from Manhattan KS to Emporia KS on a lark, just kept riding as we were having too much fun just riding the countryside. Saw one of the most intense thunderstorms pass to the south of us about 3 miles away. Tons of wildlife, deer, bobcat, hawks, turkeys, etc.

Stayed at a friends overnight, tried to ride back the next morning.

We couldn't move, friend gave us a ride back. About 70 miles. Could hardly walk for a week.

Rode out to the North Shore my second day on Oahu a couple of years later.

Camped at Malaekahana beach park. Barely made it to Haleiwa the next morning. Took the bus back. Same result - couldn't hardly walk for days.

Two of the best rides I have ever been on. Would never do it again though.
