You're slipping Paul, only 8 minutes ahead of me!

What time were you out there yesterday? Brent, Dan and I rode it after work.

So Paul... what gear you riding to achieve that time? My 52:30 consisted of middle 3/4 all the way on the climbs.

I have some work to do. Last year my best was 59 minutes on an SS with 32x22 gearing. That was my last all out effort. Blackstar after that was just for fun.

Last night I tried it on the new SS with 32x20 gearing and did it in 1:03. My legs did NOT like the steep sections. Guess I have to try it a few more times to break an hour. Uggh...

believe it or not I wasn't paying much attention! Was focusing more on pedal cadence, trying to keep it high, and keeping as straight as a chain line as possible. I think mainly middle with some big past Hidden Valley and Granny snuck in along the way somewhere!!

My fastest time was with the 32:22 gearing. The speed I lost on the flats I more than made up for on the climbs. 55 minutes.

I did Blackstar for the 1st time today. My goal was to make it to the top in 1:30, but with my sporadic riding this winter, I would have been happy with anything under 2 hrs. Time to the gate was 1:40. If I'd left the camera behind, I probably could have hit my goal. I've got some work to do.

Are there going to be Blackstar night rides this summer? What is the average pace on those rides?

Matt (Solo_rider) and I just rode this. He was on a cyclocross singlespeed with 39x22 and I was on my singlespeed 32-20. I did 51:06 and Matt was probably 45 secs ahead of me. I'd like to try again with some gears.

i heard garrett garcia once did this in sub-30 minutes (his garmin was broken, so some view it as an urban myth).

needless to say, he quickly became bored with the simplicity of our game and now does ultra crawling-on-glass events. true story...

i know. I loaned him my spare microwave to time it on. SUPER accurate...

i put in 1:02 from the tree farm to beeks on my full squish today. can't say it felt great, but I didn't expect it to after 3 weeks of no pedaling.
