are you saying Blink isnt punk?

All there CD's are listed in the "punk" section at the Wherehouse and they are sponsered by a skate shoe company. Hence, they are punk. I didnt even mention that the drummer has a mohawk, and he isnt even indian........that's punk.

boooy, i dont even understand the words comin' out your mouth.

I disagree. NOFX is too, they are still punk.

Anyways, I am tired of this......I'm going to Hot Topic to buy bondage pants, if my mom will give me a ride to the mall.

I dont think Travis is a skater. He is just a dirt kid from Riverside. He was in a band called Feeble way back in the day. After that he had the option of joining the Suicide Machines or the Aqua Bats. He joined the Bats thinking they would be a bigger band. However they never really went anywhere.

I think the kid is a go getter though. hats off to him for making the most out of his life.

pretty sure he skated (wanted to be a pro but injuries [and prob more like the reality of not the skill] kept him off. i've read/heard a number of interviews where he talks about skating and wrecking himself.

also heard he did sit for a bit with SM but could be wrong.

agreed in the interviews i have seen (he is sick for practicing and give also back to the young guns teaching them how to drum). haven't followed up to much since the accident, what is status and call for recovery

I would like to see this, Punks and skins in England means something else here. Skinheads have been around since the 50's in England as the "blue collar" working class, it's the NAZI skins that give them a bad name :-s Not the same thing people think of when someone says "skinhead" my $.02

Oh man, so many memories...Let's just say that I first got into punk in '77. I was in 10th grade. Judas Priest was king. Black Sabbath was God. Led Zep was HUGE and a friend turned me onto the Ramones. It was over from there.

Black Flag ERUPTED on the South Bay scene and it was crazy from there until say around '87 when I started to mellow out. As someone else mentioned, Black Flag BEFORE Henry Rollins RUINED the band!

See, back then it wasn't "cool" to like punk. If you had short hair and listened to punk, EVERYONE hated you. It is hard to explain to kids nowadays. Since "punk" is so socially accepted. But back then you were the toal outcast.

I've always embraced lots of music, I always loved punk, never stopped listening to metal, country, bluegrass etc...

To me punk is doing what you want, not following the crowd(s). Which is why "punk" died as a "scene" (that I knew) many, many years ago.

Whatever, I have scene pretty much every important band when I was growing up. We would drive down to the London Exchange to buy Money Boots. You couldn't go to the mall and get hair dye and Dr. Martins and studs for your jacket.

OK, blah blah blah...enough from this old man. Nice to think about all this stuff. Brings back warm memories....

While I would never consider myself oldschool, I have been listening to punk since I was a sophmore in HS, 20 years ago.

I always enjoyed bands that I could see on a regular basis. I was never into Crass and Conflict and all those other crusty bands.

    I loved Avail

Gotta love How Rollins used to be straight edge before he went to black flag, although Black Flag was okay with Rollins you can Never beat Keith Morris!

As far as skating not being Punk, Bullshit it was the kids from the 80's that started out of the 80's hardcore scene, that brought punk to the skate scene, bands like D.R.I, agent orange, And look at the DUANE PETERS next time you see him tell him skating isn't punk.

    Bones Brigade rules:bang:

Stray bullit, good call on the 77's scene thats the good stuff like Slaughter and the dogs.

Expoloited can kiss my ass they suck along with Total Chaos, total Anarchy poser's.

And dont know who it was but We love the stitches!
