You asked why STR ROCKS? This is why!

As always this board seems to have its moments of silliness (okay truth be told f'n ridiculous dumbarse moronic hateful banter) but wtf, right? Hopefully we can all get together at the STR B-star ride posted by Neil (1x1clyde) in December to put the craziness aside

But back on topic...this is why STR ROCKS!

As I had shared before, many folks from STR came together to raise enough cabbage for the Hans Rey charity Wheels 4 Life to provide 20 BIKES to children in an orphanage in Botswana, Africa. The bikes are needed so the children can get to school which is a considerable distance away. Without a bike, they basically don't receive an education.

Just today I received the following pic and note of thanks from the orphanage.

I am posting up to share the thanks, specifically including my thanks to all those who on STR who made very generous donations. THANK YOU!!!

Towards that I wanted to specifically call out Chris (onefinecatch) who made a crazy mad donation of $300 to support the kids in need. While he may not endorse me sharing this, it appears he had saved up some money to buy a new wheelset for himself but decided it was better to help out others in need and used the money set aside to help out this great cause.

Finally, most know I can talk as much sh!t as the rest, but BS aside, STR does indeed rock and this is one mere example of it. Thanks again.

Funny thing reading that letter, it read just like the letters I get by email from Nigeria letting me know I just inherited millions.

Think of those days when you bring home a new bike. Imagine how crap happy those kids must have been just to get those old beaters. Made my day!

I'm thinking by now the orphanage may be in need of a gob of tubes, patches, gallons of slime and some big pumps.
