Has anyone ever been to either one of these places in December? Are work closes down from December 25th through January 2nd so I thought it might be a good time to go. I'm just wondering how cold it is going to be and if there will be snow. And no I won't be mountian biking, just camping with my lady.
yosemite valley is awesome in the winter. no crowds and just a liitle snow, but you can take the shuttle up to the rim to downhill or crosscountry ski. but you need to carry chains for driving out of the park.
My wife and I are staying at the Awhanee for my birthday the first weekend in December. I have been in the Valley in the middle of winter before and there was plenty of snow. It just depends on the year and the given day you go. Luckily I have a 4x4 vehicle so assuming the roads are even slightly plowed we will be going.
That sounds awesome! I have been to both of those places in every season except the winter, and plan on doing that when the kids get a little older. Take pics and indulge me with a cool report! Awesome!
