Yielding

    So I was riding today and happened to notice one of the horse-man-biker yield signs and saw that MTBrs yield to both. I can see why we yield to horses, but why should we yield to hikers? It seems like it's much easier for a hiker to just step aside than it is for a biker to unclip and wait for them to walk past.... Any thoughts?
