Picked up an SB66c yesterday afternoon and could hardly sleep last night thinking of riding her this morning. Put it to the test climbing - heavier than i'm used to by 6 lbs. 2.35 UST nevegals don't help on the weight but man do they stick to the trail rocky, loose, sandy, even wet! On the downhills the bike just takes off and is capable of railing the tightest of corners! I swear it felt like a motor cut in! Couldn't let it have it's head though as my stupid thumb is still not healed yet (broke and dislocated my left one three weeks ago).

here is the beastie new, clean, and waiting to be ridden:

Definitely going to take some getting used to on the climbs but point it down and it's pure bliss!

Sweet bike. Is that the 34 fork on there? Now for some angst - my buddy just swapped out his UST Nevegals for "Tubeless Ready" Hans Dampf on his SB-66c. Dropped over 1/2 lb on each wheel. I had the fortune of riding his bike - pure awesomeness, even before his tire switch!

    Congrats and enjoy.:bang:

Yep it's the 34 and it's super stiff and buttery smooth. I'll be riding kokopelli trail (plus some fruita and Hurricane maybe gooseberry) with the dirtbags in May so wanted the heavier sidewalls on the UST. Will definitely change out for lighter rubber afterward.

Actually, go with the Hans Dampf with the Snakeskin sidewalls; they're much thicker than the rice paper that Kenda uses. They also grip better with lower rolling resistance. For added speed, use a nobby nic for the rear tire.

IT will change your riding style! Also pretty sure you will LOVE the way it powers through rocky tech climbs.

have been riding carbon superfly 100 (23 lbs) and a hard tail SS (21 lbs). With the big UST tires on the SB it's pretty portly at 29 lbs. But it's kinda like Steven Segal; a bit lardy but kick@ss!

The Specialized Purgatorys are listed at 685 in the 26" size. I have them on my Stumpy and they've held up rather well so far.

Nice rig! I missed out on a deal for $800 for the frame on Ebay. The SB66 looks squishy!
