if it wasnt at interbike this year ... your not gonna see one for at least anther year maybe 2 and thats IF they even develope one... on a related note lots of companys try new ideas out like foes for ex, had a working prototype of there 29er b29 for over three years!!! and no one knew untill about 6 months ago.. so it wouldnt suprise me one bit to find out they already have prototypes made and being ridden but that doesnt mean they will ever bring them to market...sadly
I love my 575 too...but the wife is not happy with all the bikes in my stable. I got a killer deal on a demo bike that I just couldn't pass up. I am going to sell my Yeti 575 Large very soon. Never been crashed and in superb condition.
Thanks DH Gnar, I guess I just needed someone to talk me over the ledge or kick me in the pants one of the two...
Aluminum stays I asked Chris Conroy of Yeti the question about chainstays - this was his reply: "Good to hear you are stepping up to an '09 575. You will really notice the overall stiffness increase (30% over '07) and the improved geometry. For your size, the alloy stays will be stiffer. The carbon stays are a little less stiff, but not a breakage problem... Thanks for buying another Yeti. Cheers, Chris" So - get the aluminum stays. BTW - according to legend, Yeti does honor their 5-year warranty if needed.
You the man, thanks for that post. I will be ordering my new rig hopefully next week. I will post a pic once I get it. I love the way you have your 575 set up in that picture. I have been craving this new bike since I rode it at demo this past Feb, just been saving my pennies and now it is on. Do you happen to know if they are selling the 2010???? It seems like everyone still has 09? I noticed on the Yeti site that they lowered the price and added the Fox 150 fork. I want a 2010 if possible... Thanks again for the help.
Just talk to someone like Zumwalts and see if they can order a 2010 for you. When I bought my '07 it came with a '08 fork and shock, so you never know what they will put together for you. Herzalot, what type of chain guide and bash guard are you running? Thanks.
Mrp The chainguide is an MRP - very much like a stinger. The bashguard is an MRP carbon - blingy light. Only two chainrings - a 36 and 24 in that picture, but I wussed out and dropped to a 22t granny shortly after that.
Yeti romance Just finished a 3 day demo of a 575.Ran every hill at Aliso at least once. Solid bike , does everything well.Very stable & confidence inspiring downhill. The previous 4 pages of praise for Yetis is very understandable
Love my AS-Rc I like XC bikes, never had more than 3" of travel before and ride a single speed. This bike is stiff, fast and simple. It took me a while to dial in the suspension as the frame is unforgiving of the wrong settings but when you get it right it's a transcendent experience! I like to climb standing and pushing taller gears (see SS above) and I can't make the rear bob in propedal 2. Flick the switch and it's all joy going downhill. On the ridiculously steep granny gear climbs I can crawl up anything. I expected my Yeti to be better descending than my Epic (An old non S Works) but I am surprised to find that it's forte is climbing. I have yet to see another in Socal out on the trails. Anyone else got one?
Love my 2000? something 575 I can't exactly remember what year my Yeti 575 is? But I love it:clap: It's the perfect light duty AM bike around. I've got it built to around 30lbs.
Since you asked... How about a nice pair: Kind of a sickness, at this point. The only cure is more turquoise!
This thread is killing me!! I don't own a Yeti.....yet, but I'm thinking I need to get one in the very near future??!! I demo'd an '09 575 w/full XTR in Downieville for 2 days........it was by far the best bike I've ever ridden!!! :bang: For the past 3-4 years, I've been a full-time SS'r or recently riding my 1x9 Hardtail.....and when I hopped on that 575, I could not believe how well it climbed!! I was blown away & amazed how well it tracked & stayed true while climbing and then of course when you get to the top and point that beautiful machine downhill.....well, as all you owners know.....it's just magnificent bliss on DH!!
this is the wife's yeti 2007 ASR-sl...pretty sweet build; juicy ultimates, salsa bars, 240's hubs, fox f80, rear carbon triangle, thomson stem and Ritchey carbon post, x.o rear der, and xt front der. x.o shifters.. let me know what you think
575 Yeti Just luv my 575. Looking for an ARC next so that I can hammer those hills a little faster. Tough to find one now a days. Team colors always stand out on the trails. You know a Yeti when it passes you with Team Colors!
