    Hello,

Well guys, I'm sure some of you know that I am saving up for a Yeti 575.

This thread is to collect information on first impressions and thoughts on the bike as it seems so popular in many areas.

What was the first thing you noticed when walking up to the bike?

What was the first thing you noticed while riding the bike?

Were there any details that caught your eye the most?

What was your color of choice?

How do you feel about buying such an expensive bike that doesnt come with pedals?

I myself noticed the rediculously oversized welds. Then it was the odd design of the frame, The triangle point of where the rear shock mounts gave me a feeling of a weak structural integrity but that was crushed by the test ride. The bike feels super light and well balanced which I found rather impressive... The teal is not my cup of tea, but all my bikes have been colors I never liked. #-o And going back to the welds which had me blown away the most made me think in comparison of the "litttle guy" that can bench press more than his own weight.

I'm sure there has been other threads on this, But I wanted some possibly fresh info if possible.

pedals are usually a matter of preference on high end bikes.

Send a PM to bonkey if he is still around over on MTBR. I purchased my frame from him at a ridiculous price several years ago. Bonkey run Desert Cycles, in St. George Utah. Also try Mountain High Cycles in CO, or Red Bar Cycles.

I have been out of the new MTB market since getting my 575 so no sure if any of these places are still around or the best deal in town...well in the US.

    Here's my observations:

What was the first thing you noticed when walking up to the bike? It looks cool, but I wasn't sure of that funky top tube shock junction (don't worry about it, if the frame fails, it won't be there)

What was the first thing you noticed while riding the bike? For a single pivot, it feels extremely efficient. More than my Spec Enduro--FSR suspension bike in my opinion. I liked the slack HA and higher BB height as opposed to my Enduro. It feels light and climbs like a dream. The slack angle and long travel make downhill's super fun.

Were there any details that caught your eye the most? I just really liked the look of the frame.

What was your color of choice? Raw (silver)

How do you feel about buying such an expensive bike that doesnt come with pedals? I like it actually. I'd rather install my own pedals anyway.

All in all, It's the best bike purchase I've made. I love it and love riding it. I ended up selling my Enduro because of it.

I recommend Adrenaline Cycles in Orange, there is a reason why they're biggest Yeti dealer in the U.S.. Their prices, knowledge, and service is the best bike shop I have ever dealt with. Gabe was very helpful in answering all my questions and getting me the exact bike I wanted.

so far the best price I can find brand new is 2700 shipped for the enduro with the talas fork and rp23 shock. I'd love to pick up the bike from Adrenaline but the taxes pushes me over another 200. And I am already 200 over to get the bike as 2500 was my original limit, so spending an extra 400 makes me a little uneasy. Haha I'm fairly young so if my parents found out how much I spent on this bike they would kill me.

I moved out of the house a few years ago (but less than 10), and I *never* tell my parents how much bike stuff costs. I actually am not even planning on mentioning I got a new bike. They don't know the difference :)

I have both and I'll stick with the 575.
Although the '08 Reigns are pretty damn sexy:bang:with the frame re-design and decreased weight.

I have to keep my Reign tied up if there's Yeti 575s around; he just jumps out and crushes them if they come within 2 feet.

This bike is the Dope! Travel is good well manufactured. It's a YETI NOT a trek, cdale,Gfisher,Specialized thats unique. Climbs well Gotta go with the RP23 rear shock and the float or better in the front. I am running 2.1 EXI wolf tires and that baby jams. I placed top ten @ sea otter (beginner class) this year on that bike. I have all the components that came on the bike also. I have raw alum. less paint chipping. If i had the dough I'd change the cassette and chain. The bike is great for me it is kinda on heavy. That dosent stop me from turnin out 50 min laps @ fullerton though. It was between that and the FOES FXR 2:1. previous bike Cannondale 2001 Jekyll 3000 team edition.Peep the pics on the profile.

The Elusive YETI vs Fairy tail Giant Hmmm... What usually happens to Giants in fairy tails???

He only crushes them because his .25" of extra travel adds 3-4 more lbs:lol::lol:
