it's nice to see the off road tri group picking up on STR. i remember posting about xterra last year and people were like....wha??

keep working hard and earn that spot in tahoe. there is nothing like starting a race with a couple of helicopters hovering and camera men all over the place.

    Heck yes! Tahoe rocks!

Standing on the beach there last year the reality of the situation hit me hard..."Holy crap! I'm about to race for a National Championship!"

Not that I was going to win, but being there is an amazing experience and earning it makes it that much sweeter.

Tahoe is f'ing beautiful if you've never been BTW.

    Tri-On! :bang:

BTW, Years ago ('99 I Think), when I was faster, younger, lighter and stronger I qualified and raced in the USAT Championship Race in Mission Viejo. I was sick that day, but I raced anyways, there was no way I wasn't going to race.

As a related note, part of what got me there was that I earned good points that year, including points in the Xterra West Championship that was held in Bonelli park. It was a burner day and back then they ran the sport first and then we raced in the heat of the day! That Xterra was /is my "claim to fame race". As I beat a Pro. Well the truth was, he (can't remember his name) was badly bonking, and wouldn't quit so instead of DNFing he finished poorly and I finished a couple places in front of him. But I think that helped my points or something.

Anyways I got to race in the championship race and did pretty well for an under the weather day... Great Experience / memories.

    Keep us Posted Zippy

    Anyone doing Snow Valley?

Part of the reason I'd like to go to Mt. Snow this year ;) I know I'm only a lowly sport rider, but I may never have the opportunity again!

Yes. I'll be there for Snow Valley.
A very cool local race and short; a great event for a first-timer.
