Thanks to Dan White winning the WTB XC wheelset at Rwanda, not needing it, and me needing a new front wheel I bought the set from him. With it he offered me some XT rotors, SM-RT76.
I tried to mount them and as they are two piece, the spider interferes with the tabs on my pads on my old Avid mechanical brakes (BBRB?)

Any tips on making this work? Or am I hosed?
Can/should I shave off the tabs? Get different rotors? Get new brakes?

It's a 10 year old hardtail, but my only MTB - so I don't want to spend a lot of coin, but I do want it running soon.

    Hey Rumpled,
No problem if you want me to take the rotors back.

Cut the trends off the avid pads, I believe its the inboard side of the rotor. I took mine if the bike, used pliers and slowly bent it back and fourth until it broke off. Good luck.

Sorry for the delays - I put instant email response on my post, but I've got really spotty coverage here in Napa on my phone on vacation.
    Rotors are 160mm
Dan, thanks for the offer - if I can't make them work when I get back, I might take you up on that.
I was thinking removing the tabs might work, not sure if anyone knew for sure or not.
