Just ordered a set. Hopefully these are sweet. The only disks I have tried are Mechanical.8-[

Because most people did not like them......thus, shops were having a hard time giving them away.

    A few thoughts on these:

    1. If you're not running centerlock hubs you'll have to swap out the rotors at your own cost.

    2. If you haven't tried dual control keep in mind this "features" a flappy paddle shifter that also happens to be your brake lever. For some, this is disconcerting when grabbing a handful of brakes at high speed and having movement on more than one axis.

Ideal situation, in my opinion: You already have centerlock hubs, you can find some cheap xt or lx levers to use with the calipers and rotors, and you ditch the shifter/lever combos.

Edit: Yes, I do think that's a killer price, though. And DISCO, I caught your sarcasm. ;)

Yes but they ought to include the rapid rise RDER too no?

Jay, I for one would be pissed to get these in a raffle.

Scruffy, you have an astute eye my friend, so you may be worthy of buying my bike...

And For shimano just stop already, Bio-Pace, Dual control, center lock, And now 15mm:?: WTF mate, I know why SRAM has made so many fans.

Disco had made a comment that this seems to be made for Rapid Rise. Or as Jensons says, "Works best with Low Normal". But they also say it works with all Shimano rear mechs. I didn't know that was possible but hey, there it is. Probably good to keep in mind that this seems to be designed for Rapid Rise (when you click the release it goes up the cogset not down).

Honestly, I think centerlock is kind of cool. Granted, I haven't been willing to spend the money to transition to that, but if it came with a bike of mine I wouldn't complain. Dual Control, however, would be a deal killer.

    Nice Tracer.

    Great Buy

Thanks Sam, I don't need a kit right now but I ordered it to have on hand. I have the XTR set on my epic and they work great.

I rode XTR low "normal" for a bit and it was an experience for sure, using a standard RDER would not touch the fun factor however. I will thank the gods of cold forging for the shadow RDER and external BB's but I am with scruffy on the center lock rotors, as for the bike I'll dump it for four bills cash. I like my Kona and now my wing man has no ride.

Now I dont have to write it.

However, after all that extra time and stuff you may not be saving a whole lot buy buying these. The XT Hydros are nice stoppers though.

If any of you are considering doing the alt-bar aka Moustache or Jones bar setup, this is a great deal. I don't think trigger shifters and those high sweep bars mix very well.

Haven't tried that combo but it sounds like a good suggestion. Trail ready commuter anyone?

    Mike

I just had no Idea this kit came with the derailleurs. Wonder if that was a shipping mistake? :?: Anyhoo the add doesnt really show it one way or the other?

Do you happen to know the part numbers on the derailleurs? That would definitely sweeten the deal if those are included.
