Does anybody know if the Shimano XT brake levers will run/mate/work with Avid matchmakers? If I want to run the matchmakers which i currently do (on Juicy 5) will i need to stick to Avid products when i upgrade brakes in the very near future? I heard a dirtly little rumor that they may work togther? Thanks
I'm going to say no just b/c the XTs don't have a split clamp, which is what it looks like the matchmaker uses to mount Avid brake levers.
negative! shimano use's single pinch bolt avid use's top clamp style levers, but you can upgrade to formula brakes which you can run the avid match makers with just go to formulas web site and it will tell you what you need.
to answer your question, avid matchmakers only work with avid brakes. I don't think they even work with formulas since the holes are in diff. places, but I could be wrong on that one. if you really want I can try it out.
