Somebody posted up something about this the other night. I got 5 free samples ( was surprised how quick it came in the mail) First impression, it tastes pretty good and is real light. Not real sugary or thick like some others. Next sample will be during a ride to see how it works,. Here is a link. Oh and I tried the green tea and lemon. www.XOODhealth.com
http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/racing-training/26179-free-endurance-sport-drink-samples.html your the only one who likes it haha i hated the taste
I don't think the taste is bad but I don't think it is good either. When i rode on Sunday, I had it in my water bottle and it did the job so it made me happy. Probably gonna stick with accelerade though.
neutral on the tasted....the green tea/lemon was so mild it was easy...tried the pomegranate during school...didn't notice any increased energy....will try the others sometime soon......may just stick with Gatorade
I was decidedly unimpressed. The green tea tasted the best of the three, with the recovery drink as the worst. Even though the three drinks were supposed to be for separate things, the ingredients were exactly the same except for the botannical extracts. I'm not buying any and still looking for a 300 calorie post-ride drink. For a SERIOUS pre-race drink, try EAS Catapult. Nasty stuff, but WHOA! Gets you pumped.
For the last month I've been using a custom blend by Infinit Nutrition. I like it for the following reasons: -Custom to my specifications -Hasn't irritated me in the slightest even after multiple bottles and long rides -Single source of nutrition -My recipe is not too sweet so I don't get sick of it, but it's not so bland that it's boring I don't like it for a single reason: -Packaging sucks. It comes in a giant plastic bag with a ziploc type closure and it's pretty poor at locking up. Not a problem generally except that these powders tend to get messy when you check to see if the bag is sealed and the air--and powder--come flying out of the gap in the seal. They'd do better with a zipper or something in a plastic jug. Also it's a little on the pricey side, but it's worth the money to me to not be sick and have a source of nutrition that's custom to my needs.
HEED by Hammer nutrition doesn't suck, though they sweeten it with sorbitol so it tastes like sugar-free gum. I use CarboPro, which is unflavored. It just tastes a little sweet to me, but my g/f says it tastes like spaghetti-water. Accelerade has protein and was hard on my stomach, same with Hammer's Perpetuem. The stuff by EAS has a funky taste that I can't get over. I haven't tried Infinit, but heard lots of good things about it. Gatorade doesn't have enough calories for how sweet it is and I don't want to drink it when it gets hot out. It's basically soda as far as I'm concerned. Alas, nutrition is all trial and error: It took me 6 years of racing and training to figure out what I just laid out for you. Good luck. Eric
I hear ya! has anyone tried "1st Endurance - PreRace"? is it any better than coffee? :?: It's alot more expensive CRAP! sorry if I'm derailing the thread
