Yo - Did anyone race XC this past weekend in Fontana? I did the beginner men's 27-34 as my first ever race. I couldn't stick around for the results but a buddy of mine who did said I got second. Cool! I'm debating doing the Sport catagory next time for double the mileage just to make the long drive from the West side more worthwhile. I'll get my ass handed to me in that catagory but I'd rather do 14 miles than 7. The course was more technical and sandy than I had expected, but I had a great time. Chime in if you raced -- and especially if you're gonna race in the next one. - 0gravity

first off, congrats on the finish dood! it seems the STR following at the fontana races is pretty good. It seems we always have at least one person to podium. I've never done the XC race, but i'm interested in the super d race that will be held on saturdays as well.

I'm planning on racing the next one, I'll be in the sport 35-44, bringing up the rear.

Congrat's on the great finish. Second is awesome! I think moving to Sport is a great call.
I race in the "old man" singlespeed category. I'll be wearing The Path jersey. Give a holler out!

Thanks Andy, - Yeah, I think moving to sport is worthwhile. Our whole group was a bunch of sandbaggers, myself included; everyone could have been in sport. But it was my first race, so I'm glad I tried beginner first. At the next one, I'll keep an eye out for anyone in the Path jersey and say a hello. That seems to be the main shop representin' on STR.org - Rock that single-speed!
