    We've been getting the same warnings in the Cleveland National Forest in San Diego County for years as well. Alarming at first, but very low odds of contracting anything considering the miniscule number of reported cases.

    Plague has been endemic in SoCal since... like... forever. There have been four reported cases in twenty six years, none fatal, and the busybodies of government now want to keep you from camping in the mountains.

    When you consider all the other potentially fatal hazards we come into contact with daily, diseased chipmunks are probably the safest thing you could stuff into your Camelbak.
