I was lucky enough to go to the WCTC's last night. I didn't take any photos but I have to say from the second I entered the Velodrome my heart started pounding in my throat.

The track is indoors and made of imported wood. It is 250m long (well circular) and has 45 degree banked turns. The racers were from all over the world and they represented! If you ever get the chance to go you really should check it out. These guys were flying at over 40 mph on fixed gear bikes with up to 40 other riders. It is simply amazing to watch.

The favorite race of the night was the Madison. Two person teams doing 160 laps in 45 minutes. No water bottles and essentially it was an all out sprint. There were a few crashed and one person was wheeled out in a gourney, but all in all it was a fabulous evening.

Again if you get the chance to go... go!
