Ride Report Work Day Off Ride..

My gf and i did a hike / bike today in the Gabes.
Dropped her off at Lake Street trail-head so she could hike up Lower Sam Merril.
I drove to the JPL Parking to start my ride. We met at the Ruins to eat lunch together then she hiked down and i rode up another mile to descend Sunset and El P. Trails were in fair shape from the rain. Some rock and mud slides and few ruts here and there. Great dirt though!
We met a strange guy at the Ruins. He had a knife tied to a long stick and was taking a lot of pictures of him self. I thought i had better make friends w/ him so he wouldn't kill us.

 

Yikes! did he tell you what he was up to?

 

I was afraid to ask..
But when i took a picture of him... i said: "Smile" I don't know if he did or not? Haha...

 

Hope you took the time to roll those rocks off the trail. That is what we do to give it back.

 

I did not in that spot but did on a few spots of Sunset Trail.

I'm pissed you didn't tell me you were riding the Gabe's tho...ha ha (I kid I kid).

 

Neat pics. Cute chick. Guy is probably just carrying for self-defense from predators while he is out taking pictures. Guess this answers the question someone asked me on another thread about "Why you need a pistol when biking?" though.
