Ride Report Womens DH Group Ride with Pics

Ok I'll start the RR and hopefully Nancy will post pics soon. Unfortunately I was unable to take pics because I packed dead batteries#-o

The day started off great with fun and laughter in the parking lot. Props to Danielle for the fullface/spandex/flip flop combo!:clap:

As a warm up run to feel out the girls(and for me to sober up:drunk we did Pirates to Fern and through Bristlecone. Went very well and was a good confidence boost. Once we got back down I felt prety sobered up as well.

Second run was Upper Fall Line to #3. The girls rocked! A lot of steep, loose, rocky stuff. On #3 there was a log roll that was on a desent that when you came to it was very intimidating, but once you got on it, it wasn't bad. Props to Danielle for her completion and bush love At the end of #3 there were a couple lips in the trail that SloSpokes and I hit and I got squirrely and she followed my jacked up line(sorry Ann). It was funny though.

We got to the top and had lunch. Our weather was crazy changes. We had some nice shiny sun then strong winds then crazy foggy cold fronts then light rain. While we had lunch it was 42 degrees and sprinkling#-o. The chair ride was the bad part. While riding we were generally good, but on the chair we "cuddled":-$.

Third run was Upper Fall Line to Lower Fall Line with a detour This was more challenging for the girls, but they rocked it! Again very steep, loose, rocky stuff. The detour was the kind of stuff where it's so steep from squatting back so far and it's so soft your rear tire just sinks like quick sand.

Fourth run was on the east side of the mountain. I forget the name of the trails, but we had a nice flowy singletrack to a log ride. A few of us tried on bikes then in the end we all road the log Before we got to the log I learned what womnuts are. Wasn't a pretty picture. After that we went down another trail that "I can't remember the name". Really fun lots of larger rocks then the last few and a good steep decent with pure powder dirt down and super steep. Almost everyone made it and mad props to Lety on this one. She conquered her fear by not quite making the first little bit, but walked a few feet down and got back on. You are an animal:bang:

All in all it was a fabulous day with an amazing group of women. We were able to goof off and be girls! Sing the womnuts song. If I did not mention your name in any props I'm sorry, but there were way too many things to boast about you girls and this is getting long. ALL you girls kicked major a$$!!!:bang::clap::clap:

I am starting to convert more females into DHers so you better watch out boys!

Sorry for the delay, I went shuttling yesterday morning then came home and took a nap. I hope to have the pictures posted tonight.

The best thing about this ride was the variety. 2 girls in their 20's, 3 in their 30's, 1 in her 40's and 1 in her 50's.

 

Oh sure, don't post any pictures of me!!!! Oh, that's right, there were only 2 since I was taking the pictures. :-(

 

I didn't know if you would want the one posted of you riding the log...

That was my bad as a hostess by packing dead batteries I will make sure on the next one that I have good batteries!

Thanks for the great RR and the wonderful pictures. You all look soooo cool and it looks like a good time. Lil_Missy if ever you want/need I can give you a ride back up the mountain. Just let me know. Never up or down the mountain yet.
