will a 10 speed cassete fit on the wheels on this bike?

    from sheldon:
    Available Shimano-compatible Cassettes:

Note: Shimano 8- 9- and 10-speed cassettes/hubs are fully interchangeable for wheels with steel Freehub bodies.
The only parts that are different in any important way between the 8- 9- and 10-speed systems are the shift control levers. (Exception: the "Shadow" series of derailers uses a different cable pull, used with "Shadow" XTR 10-speed shifters.)

I've used 9 speed cassette on a wheel that previous had 8 speed. But no personal experience with 10 speed. If you can mount the 10 speed cassette and the locknut threads, I'd think it would be ok. I mean, what could possibly go wrong Mo?

Anything's possible Mo! Besides, the bike will probably break before the cassette/hub do. Lol

Hey Dave! No fat bikes... infact, only ridden once since being here! I'm still getting used to working 12hr graveyard shifts! I'll probably bow out of riding until Spring / summer. How ya'll enjoying the weather? I'm enjoying the 6-50° temps. LOL

I swapped a generic 8spd for a shimano 10spd SLX cassette without any issues or a need for different parts (aside for RD/shifter). This should be no problem:?:

The answer is yes. If an 8 speed fits, 9 or 10 will also fit. I have a wheel set from the mid 90's that I've put a 10 speed on.

So what's the final product, Mo. Or do you have something else to show us? ;)
