Just got home from Whiting where I was having one of those 'less than perfect' rides, when what do I see in a streambed next to Mustard-- but a fox with a snake in its mouth!

Next to a mountain lion pup that was sitting and watching me from a clearing near Edison trail, this was the coolest thing I've seen in Whiting Ranch. :)

I was there tonight. So you saw a mountain lion pup near Edison Trail? You should call the ranger station and leave a message of what you saw and when. Darn, I wish I would have saw that. Were you with the crew that left at about 6 p.m.?

spooked a bobcat with a little wabbit dangling out of it's mouth at dusk today on Concourse. always refreshing to see the law of nature at it's best.

    Tarantulas!

If you want to see some truly insane tarantula action.... Head to Chino Hills State Park in the Fall anytime during October during they're migration. Last year a buddy and I counted something like 25 of them on the trail within a 10 mile ride. It pretty much got ridiculous! Overgrown single tracks that time of year..... NO THANK YOU! (They were hanging from the branches about face level.)

I should have been more clear.. I saw the pup a couple years ago. I was just glad I didn't get its mom's attention. :-k

Last night I went in a little later.. Most of the animals I've seen, other than deer, were out just before dark. I used to see skunks once in awhile, and they'd just linger on the trail with their tails in the air-- daring me to try to get by? I've ended up riding out in the dark because they held me up so long

    Teebird,

I was with the crew that left at 6. I didn't see any wild life at all. Well I did see a lizard or two but that was about it.

I was riding a Niner and had a The Path Bike Shop jersey on.
