I've never seen a tarantula at Whiting. What trail was that on?

The rest of you are rolling too fast - need to look around, I see multiple deer almost every trip through whiting. Had a fawn almost run into me on borrego, I had stopped to watch, and she bolted the wrong way.

Lizards, wood peckers, hawks, bunnies, coyote or two - still no kitties :)

Actually did a hike at Whiting this weekend instead of riding it.
The Red Rock out and back is really beautiful and we saw these deer (I think) and a 6 point buck at about 7:30 on Saturday.

I saw 7 deer on Sun morn about 8:30 am. Including two spike bucks sniffing on some does. Right near Serrano/Dreaded.
Three almost ran into me, apparently I was at their exit.
    No big bucks though.

I would say that one out of every 3 or 4 times, I come close to a deer. How close? Well, last time one darted onto the trail, and I was behind it for almost 5 seconds. Oh, did I mention that if it wanted to, I was close enough for it to kick me with its hind legs? That's when I put on the brakes.

Is there a website the documents recent Mountain Lion sightings?

Has anyone around here had any recent encounters?
