You know what they say, "women weaken legs!"

Maybe your body just needs to get used to it.

Are your other days harder than what you were used to before? Is she getting stronger and pushing you more when you need to rest? Are you riding flats or hills? You left us with more questions than answers.

But, my real question is, why the hell can't you use some more punctuation and caps. ;)

Lets see we ride some hills but I usually dont go that hard. For example my average HR when i ride como street so something pretty fast is araound 170 bpm but when i ride with her it is more like 120 bpm. I know she is getting better so that has to have something to do with it. My buddy that i train with has a cannondale scaple which he has been having issues with making it un-ridable for 3-4 weeks now. So I dont have hime to compare myself to.

I also experienced a reduction in my riding intensity when my wife started riding. More so as she got stronger and wanted to ride more.

I started using our time together to do "other" kinds of riding (I ride SS so gear choices aren't in my bag of tricks).

    Like:

    Do one legged drills.
Sprint ahead, get off the bike, run back to her and run back to the bike
Decide to ride everything standing/or sitting or at a high cadence.

all of these are reasonable options.

Every time someone sees me and the wife at the top of a peak they comment how nice it is that I have a wife that rides, so keep at it!!

Just one more way they suck the life out of you.... j/k

Did it occur to anyone that "riding slower" may just be less efficient for you? if your HR is down, you're working anaerobically (harder). It's a good way to build/condition muscles for more intensity once you're riding at your normal pace.

See, it's really one MORE way our wives make us better :p :D :p :D

At least the "wife riding" part is with your own wife....

I get the opposite effect. I ride pretty hard by myself or in groups, so my ride with my wife and kid are good because it works out the lactic acid. Basically a recovery ride. If it is the day after a hard ride then yes I'm still a little sore, but then the next day I feel great.
