Loudly? Really? I don't think so but that's just because I couldn't find a bigger one. If you want stupid, riding a full rigid steel bike with 3 inch tires and a flask where the water bottle should be, now that's stupid.

The last three pages of sagacity in this thread bring me back to the 10th grade:
    "Fords suck, Chevys rule!"
    "Oh yeah?"
    "Yeah!"
    "YOU suck!"
    "Your MOM..."

    You get the idea.

Except in 10th grade you had no evidence and no reason.

Did anyone know that Warner owns the "Happy Birthday to You" song? You're allowed to sing the song privately but anyone in the public domain is required to pay at a minimum $1500 to Warner to use the song. We found this out a few years ago when a waitress told us this is why many restaurants create their own birthday songs. Before you empty your wallet at the next Superman vs Batman, 300: Rise of an Empire, and Matrix reboot movies, think about where your money is going. Apparently Warner rakes in $2M+ every year in royalties for the birthday song alone. And their ownership lasts until 2030.

I do agree with most that Specialized is the Apple of the cycling industry. They do make very nice bikes and have very loyal customers.

A handful of my friends will ONLY buy Specialized bikes despite their reputation with other bike manufacturers.

I'm very self righteous... Ha ha, not really. I'm as humble as they come...no, not at all...lol

My friend works and rides for Niner (Tony G.). I've demo'd a Niner and I wasn't sold. I'm a Homer now and a recovering Specialized.

I have to admit, Niner wasnt on my radar until Jenson had the frame on sale for $329. Since building this bike up I've had the opportunity to sample a Turner Czar and am in a serious state of "want" for that bike. This "upgradeitis" is killing my wallet.... lol

I wasn't a fan before the crap they pulled with the LBS and then the suing. When I first got back into riding it just seemed like everybody in Orange County had one. I wanted something different.

I have never owned a specialized bike, they never have done it for me. After hearing about all there lawsuits over the years, I will probably not own anything they make. I understand they want to protect trademark, but they go way to far with it. I am sure in almost every industry there is a "Specialized".

I'd rock a demo all day, but I'd never buy one brand new.
