That's odd. I wouldn't think that the trademark would be enforceable. Weird.

Seems pretty screwed up. I might believe S's hands were tied in this matter (trademark law?) if it were evident that they were pursuing every use of the name in question. Ugh.

Isn't Roubaix the name of a town in France? I didn't realize city names were copyrighted if they are used as a bike model name. Also, Isn't there a bike shop called Mojo Wheels? I think Ibis needs to sue them. What a bunch of A$$hats! Another great reason to never buy a Specialized product.

I'm done with them. This isn't the first case of bullying they've been involved in. There are plenty other great bikes and products out there but they don't seem to realize this.

I think the question on everyone's mind is what does this mean for the world of enduro? And demo bikes? Status update, anyone?

It might not be enforceable but it costs the small shop a lot of gggrrrrr to be vindicated. I wonder if he sold Specialized bikes if he would have this issue? Maybe it's a case of other Specialized dealers complaining, it's a dog eat dog business...

If they truely are required to defend the trademark or lose it what are they supposed to do?

I mean you can have for example "All American Tires" and "All American Moving" and All American Foods" but you can't have the term "All American" in the same industry.....I think that is how it works. For a bike reseller to get a letter from $pecialized is just DUMB.

France should sue Specialized for using the name of their region.
