I rode Aliso at 1 yesterday, hey it was the only time I could get away... Dropped in Lynx, up Cholla, down Rock it, up Mathis, that was a mistake, Top of the world to refill my bottle. The breeze was nice but it was still hot. I dropped in on Mentally for the first time. Pretty soft and rutted, I love how you can residual impact of where people went into the bushes... I rode most of it, but because it was so hot and I was alone, walked some of the more tech stuff. Then rode back through dripping cave and back to the car. Drained 2 bottles in an hour and a half and was dehydrated. Tough short ride in high heat.

Small community/shallow gene pool => high heat tolerance and reduced brain cell count:?:

    get up early Saturday

Cheeseboro - started before sunrise. Car thermometer said 68 degrees (trailhead is down in canyon). State weather station on hill said 78 degrees. Finished in just over 2 hours and got out before the peak of 104 degrees.

Well I am not getting accustomed to this 10 day+ heat wave. Today seemed to be the most miserable of the week. 7am at Whiting, 80 degrees in the shade and bad humidity. Mustard was tough in the sun and the air was damn thick, so cut out the Luge plans and headed back to the car and A/C. I grew up in the midwest and did some time in New Orleans, but not sure if I could "get used to it" again (high heat and humidity). I find I'm much more sensitive to this stuff as I've grown older....

Today was ridiculous at Aliso. Started at 2:00 and the batteries jus got drained from the heat and humidity. "how bad could it be" , well I found out. Just dizzy and light headed all the way down Rock-it, but, set a pr on the rock garden :)

We were out at Aliso too this morning. Luckily our 8:30 start time helped keep the heat level tolerable...but after climbing Cholla and Mathis in 85+ degree heat needless to say we were out of water and energy by the time we made it back to MILF park. The humidity was the worst part to be honest.

Rode CHSP this morning; Northridge to Southridge. That freakin' park has no coverage unless you roll straight up the middle on Telegraph. The Sun was blazing on my face or neck for 19 miles.

Cloud cover made today's ride a lot nicer. Got out around 8-ish and max temp was only about 95*. Lots of runners out - just ending their run as I was starting my ride. Laid down and stuck my toes in the aqueduct at the end of the ride and watched the ducks float around for a while.

ah yes, I rode the trail from Great Falls Maryland last year to the Jefferson monument, it is for sure a different heat there.

Walked through Union Station to work today and it is ridicuolous hot in there, people including woman are dressing less and less.

I tend to ride no later than 0730 in the IE, so if anyone is interested chatter back.
