It's about time that I share a ride... Wrightwood 3-4 hr moderate pace with plenty of singletrack, tree cover and awesome views.

Crazysue and I are gonna' host this one with a few of our local riding buddies. The loop will be a figure 8, so those who want a shorter ride can peel off... but it'll be your loss!

    Little to no poison oak!

A few photos of the various trails we'll ride. Sue thinks I'm #1!

Both (and then some). Plan is to start by riding up to Table mountain (cool look out over High desert),
then descend via Singletrack down to Hwy 2.
Climb up the dirt road parallel to Hwy 2
Then down a singletrack to Jackson Lake (starts just behind the fire station).
Climb a stiff dirt road out of Jackson Lake to a moderate (sometimes exposed) singletrack to a fireroad climb. Over the top (passing by Grassy Hollow)
A short stint on Hwy 2 then up to the top of Blue Ridge. Then back down Blue Ridge.

Sounds like fun. Can slug-like climbers such as myself join in, or is this one for the more goat-like?

Can you give a rough idea of mileage/elevation gain?

no problem... we'll have a "captain" for the goats and a captain for the "slugs."

Mileage is somewhere about 20 miles for the total route with about 3000-3300 in climbing for the total route.

    .

Sounds like fun! I've only tried riding in this area once, and it I didn't ride much...(because I didn't know the trails). So I'm looking forward to becoming familiar with them...so yeah, I'm in! :)

Unless there's a major disaster or work rears its ugly head, consider me in. I even "volunteer" to be the fearless leader of Team Trail-slug!
