wasn't planning on it for july. I would like to get up there at some point this summer though. Maybe thinking of hitting mammoth in 2 weeks though (weekend of the 30th)

Not sure if they will close off any other trails but they are racing on Sticks & Stones:
Sunday, July 25: Sticks & Stones (all divisions)

 

I am planning to do a day or two at N* then a day or two at Mammoth. Possibly next weekend.

 

Rode there last Wednesday. Hot, dry and dusty. FYI, they do not run the Vista Express chair Monday - Thursday. If you go on those days, be prepared to pedal across the mountain to get to the majority of the trails. The Crossover trail takes you to the top of the mountain (there is some uphill fireroad pedaling) and the Tryumph trail takes you to the middle of the mountain. We had an okay time, but it is very hard to justify paying full price for a lift ticket when 1 chair is not running (in the olden days it was the other way around. You went up the Vista chair and then had to pedal to the other side of the mountain).

P.S. Only certain sections of Livewire had been watered. The rest of it was dry, loose and had a lot of braking bumps.

 

They will close stiks & stones on race day for a few hours. Everything else is open to ride, enjoy!
